Vivek Mishra, MD
Interventional Radiologist and Vein Specialist
Dr Vivek Mishra is a trained interventional radiologist with expertise in minimally invasive surgery, and also a trained neuroradiologist. Dr. Mishra completed his medical degree and his first radiology residency from the University of Delhi. Subsequently, he completed his second radiology residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center Chicago. He did two fellowships from Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, one in interventional radiology and the other in neuroradiology. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in radiology and the two subspecialities.
Since his fellowship training, he has been performing complex interventional radiology procedures including varicose vein treatment for the last 10 years, currently at Porter Regional Hospital and previously at Laporte Hospital, Indiana. Neuroradiology is also his passion and he has been diagnosing complex neurologic diseases with the help of state-of-the-art technologies. He has been active in research, with multiple publications to his name. He was awarded RSNA Roentgen Resident /Fellow research award in 2002. He was awarded the best teacher award in 2011, at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, affiliated with St James Hospital, Olympia Fields, IL. Currently, he is serving as the chairman of the radiology department at Porter Regional Hospital. He is also serving on multiple committees in the hospital. He is actively involved in the Indian American Cultural Center in Merrillville, IN, and the Indian Medical Association of Northwest Indiana. He is currently serving as the secretary of the alumni of his medical school.
