CryoCorrect™ Brown Spot Treatment Explained

During treatment, the spot or skin tag is quickly frozen for 5-8 seconds using a precise flow of carbon dioxide (CO2), the newest innovation in cryotherapy. (CO2) offers the mildest freezing temperature when compared to other cryogen methods like liquid nitrogen and nitrous oxide treatment and results in a softer, shallower, more comfortable freeze, leaving the surrounding skin intact..

Results can be seen in as little as one treatment with little to no downtime and minimal discomfort.

With the fastest healing time, lowest risk of pigmentary changes or scarring, it is the most elegant solution for cosmetic lesion removal, especially on the face.

Cryocorrect FAQs

How does the CryoCorrect™ Treatment work?

Carbon dioxide (CO2) can achieve effective cryo-necrosis at a mild temperature of -108º F (-78ºC) to safely, gently, and effectively freeze away brown spots and skin tags.

How is CryoCorrect™ different than traditional liquid nitrogen?

The rapid freezing of benign human tissue produces cryo-necrosis between -4ºF (-20ºC) and -22ºF (-30ºC). Traditional liquid nitrogen cryosurgery freezes tissue at a temperature at -321ºF (-196ºC), but potential to rupture the cell membrane and destroy l healthy surrounding cells. In contrast, carbon dioxide (CO2) can achieve effective cryo-necrosis at a milder temperature of -108ºF (-78ºC) allowing for a less-aggressive tissue freeze and is less likely to damage the surrounding tissue.

What conditions does CryoCorrect™ Precision treat?

CO2 can safely and effectively treat localized benign skin lesions, including skin tags, mild actinic keratoses, and other cosmetic dark spots such as age spots or sun spots. A CryoCorrect treatment can remove stubborn age and sun spots remaining after facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments. Before receiving a CryoCorrect treatment, your skincare provider should individually evaluate if you are an appropriate candidate for treatment.

Is CryoCorrect™ Precision safe?

Yes, CryoCorrect™ Precision is completely safe.

What are the benefits to CryoCorrect™ Precision?

How long does the CryoCorrect™ Precision treatment take?

Each spot we treat takes only 5-10 seconds. Most people only get 1-10 spots in a session.

What are the side effects to the CryoCorrect™ Precision treatment?

Your spots will look darker for about 7-10 days and then flake off. The body can take a little longer to flake. To prevent scarring it is important you don’t force the flakes off your skin.

Does the CryoCorrect™ Precision treatment hurt?

There is no to minimal discomfort for the treatment.

What areas can be treated with CryoCorrect™ Precision?

All areas can easily be treated including the face, neck, chest, arms, legs, hands, and back. The CryoCorrect™ Precision device can be used as a stand-alone treatment, integrated with pigmentation or aesthetic treatments, or added to body treatment protocols to quickly and completely remove any remaining spots.

What skin types can be treated with CryoCorrect™ Precision?

The CryoCorrect Treatment has been tested on Fitzpatrick Types I–III (lighter skin tones), and not recommended for types 4-6 (darker skin tones).

How is CryoCorrect™ Precision different than IPL for removing brown spots?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and BBL (broad band light) treatments are very effective at removing large areas of superficial brown spots. They do not do actinic keratosis or skin tags. CryoCorrect™ Precision also can remove the more stubborn brown spots. Because IPL (we use Limelight extremely effectively) is so affordable, we use it all over, and then treat small areas on the face or body with CryoCorrect™ Precision.

When will I see results?

Healthy skin typically appears 2-3 weeks after treatment. In some cases, the healing process varies between 4-12 weeks.

What can I expect during and after a CryoCorrect Treatment?

During a CryoCorrect Treatment the spot or skin tag is quickly frozen and will turn the skin a dark color. This dark color may last between 3-5 days before a scab forms. The scab will slough off between 2-3 weeks, and normal healthy skin will appear. In some cases, the healing process can vary between 4-12 weeks.
