Unlike many lasers, Venus Viva is safe for all skin tones, making it the superior skin resurfacing treatment for many patients.

What Is Venus Viva?

Venus Viva skin resurfacing treatments work by safely delivering heat through the skin’s surface using NanoFractional radiofrequency. Microneedles puncture the skin with tiny pins, sending energy below the surface to heat cells and stimulate the body’s natural healing response. This process leads to natural collagen production and new cell growth by creating thousands of tiny pin-sized wounds to the dermis. These wounds superficial injuries to the skin send a signal to your body to heal the skin naturally.  The Venus Viva process repairs signs of skin damage visible on the skin’s surface. Since the wounds are so microscopic, the treatment is incredibly tolerable and relatively painless. Our expert providers also use a topical numbing agent to ensure your comfort.

What Skin Conditions Can Venus Viva Correct?

Venus Viva is used to treat the following conditions: • Acne scars, fine wrinkles, and superficial blemishes of the skin • Pigment irregularities such as sun damage and freckles • Shallow scars from injuries and surgery • Hyperpigmentation and rosacea • Lax skin around the neck, jowls, and décolletage • Rough, uneven skin tone • Red or brown spots on the skin

What Happens During Treatment?

Preparing For Treatment Before your treatment, you should avoid any Retin-A products for one week and do not apply lotions, creams, perfumes, powders, or makeup before your appointment. Additionally, you must avoid prolonged sun exposure. If you have any specific skin conditions in the treatment areas, discuss them with your provider in advance.  During Treatment A topical anesthetic is applied 30 minutes before your treatment to numb the area gently. A handheld applicator is used to deliver the radiofrequency bursts to the treatment area. This process takes about 15-20 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment. You may experience a warm, pinprick sensation during treatment, but any discomfort should be minimal and short in duration.

Is There Downtime Required After Treatment?

Most patients will experience mild redness for a few days immediately after the treatment. As your body’s response system repairs the micro-damage caused by the radiofrequency bursts, you may notice some sensitivity. Most patients can immediately return to normal daily activities. Skincare instructions for the first few days after treatment will be provided, and you can resume wearing makeup just 24 short hours after your treatment.

How Many Sessions Are Necessary?

Just one treatment can be all that is necessary to see a subtle improvement in your skin; however, more treatments may be needed depending on your specific goals. The number of sessions needed for optimal results varies by individual. It’s typical to notice that your skin looks clearer, smoother, and younger after three to five sessions of 15 minutes each.

Can Venus Viva Be Combined With Other Energy-Based Treatments?

Venus Viva can be combined with other light- and energy-based treatments such as Limelight IPL treatments to reduce or eliminate surface imperfections and improve overall skin tone. Venus Viva is effective and safe for all skin types. You may benefit if you struggle with acne scars, fine wrinkles, pigmentation irregularities like sun damage and freckles, or if you have loose skin. Our providers typically recommend Venus Viva as a baseline treatment for every patient because of its ability to reduce or eliminate many different skin concerns.
