At Vein and Laser Institute, we understand that patients want and deserve to know how much their treatment will cost before beginning treatment. While it depends upon the specifics of their health insurance plan, most patients receive partial or full coverage for varicose vein treatment. This is because varicose vein treatment is considered a medical procedure, not a cosmetic one.

Your Cosmetic Consultation at Vein and Laser Institute
To ensure you have an opportunity to learn about our services without making a commitment, our practice always provides cosmetic consultations without cost or obligation. You will typically meet with one of our assistants for an initial cosmetic consultation who will, at that time, review your options and desired outcomes with you. Our team will work with you to determine whether your insurance will authorize the course of treatment that you and your doctor decide upon.
Medical Consultations
Varicose vein consultations take place with Drs. Alkardi, Barakat, or Mishra. Our office team will bill this visit to your health insurance provider. Most plans treat this as a regular doctor’s office visit, and will, accordingly, request a co-pay amount. Your doctor will complete a thorough medical exam during this visit, provide various options for diagnosis and treatment, and discuss recommended next steps.
Keep in mind that some health insurance companies require a referral from your primary doctor prior to scheduling an appointment at Vein and Laser Institute. We therefore suggest that you call your insurance provider to ensure your plan participates in our network. Our team always works to obtain pre-authorizations from your insurance when possible, and can even assist you with appeals if a medically necessary treatment is initially denied by your insurance.
